Irish beauty Georgia Penna has reportedly welcomed her third child via surrogate with husband Joe.

The model revealed she was expecting a baby girl back in February and shared gorgeous snaps of the baby shower thrown for her.

The star is married to Joe Penna and already has twin boys.

The 32-year-old is very private when it comes to her personal life and rarely posts family pictures.

Their baby girl was reportedly born last week to an American surrogate. An inside source told Evoke.iethat everything went well and the couple are delighted.

Recently, the Prime Minister suggested it might be time to revisit our law on assisted reproduction. He was responding to the news that Liberal MP Anthony Housefather planned to introduce a private member’s bill amending parts of the law that made it a criminal offence to pay people to act as surrogates, egg donors or sperm donors.

They are right that the Assisted Human Reproduction Act, which received royal assent in 2004, is a bit outdated. Much of it comes from a time before it was common for gay couples to have children, for lesbians to use anonymous sperm donors or for single women or men to create families on their own. The idea that paying for someone’s willing help in this could send a parent to prison doesn’t feel right.

Still just 28, Helen Johnson, who says she has always ‘longed’ to be a mother, faced a double whammy, when she found a pea sized lump in her breast exactly a year after being diagnosed with cervical cancer.
Helen, from Bolton in Greater Manchester, froze her eggs after learning she had cervical cancer when she was 27, just 14 months after her first ever smear test – which was clear.

The reboot of the sitcom, “Roseanne,” has been met with accolades from many conservatives. They claim the popularity of the show is due to allegedly representing the values of Middle America. I have not watched the reboot because I wasn’t a fan of the original and I knew the storyline of the new show included a positive, or at least morally neutral portrayal of surrogacy. I may be mistaken, but I have yet to hear a single conservative pundit who praised the show express any moral concerns regarding the surrogacy. This unquestioned acceptance of surrogacy as a social good presents a moral crisis just as serious as surrogacy itself.

The Life Network Foundation says new law will create ethical and legal problems for children born from in-vitro fertilisation

A pro-life group has raised concerns over proposed changes to the Embryo Protection Act, which it says gives short shrift to the legal and ethical issues involved.

Life Network Foundation chairperson, Miriam Sciberras, was critical of changes that will change the definition of prospective parents, the introduction of anonymous gamete donation and embryo freezing.

Sciberras also criticised the proposal to start a consultation process on altruistic surrogacy. She said surrogacy turned women into objects and ignored the importance of the bond that develops during pregnancy between the mother and the child.

The wider definition of parents would allow, among others, single women to make use of in-vitro fertilisation treatment. The changes also propose the introduction of anonymous sperm and egg donation.

The introduction of embryo freezing and adoption, access to IVF for same-sex couples and single persons, as well as a public consultation on surrogacy are the highlights of a new IVF bill presented this afternoon, by Health Minister Chris Fearne.

Addressing a news conference at Parliament, the deputy prime minister said the bill had been unanimously approved by the Labour Party.
He said that until the final few months of the Gonzi administration in 2012, there was no regulation of IVF.

“The 2012 law was a good move, but time is ripe to move further ahead,” he said.
He explained that between 18 to 20 per cent of couples faced infertility problems.

Under this bill IVF will be also be offered to same sex couples as well as single women.

The idea to donate her eggs sprung into mind after she tragically suffered a miscarriage with her fourth baby at 10 weeks pregnant in 2015.

Julie Bindel, who writes for the Guardian, and New Statesman has hit out at gay men who use surrogacy to have their own, biological child. The columnist was commenting on an April Fool’s Joke about surrogacy by German LGBT+ website Queer.de.

The article, which has been apologised for, was a competition to give away an egg donation and to pay for the services of a surrogate mother in Bangkok worth €36,000.

Bindel has often spoken out about gay men using surrogate mothers in order to have children. In her latest social media outburst, she appeared to call gay men “Narcissistic, rich, racist, entitled pricks”.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says it’s time for Canadian society to wrestle with the controversial issue of paying women to carry other people’s babies.

Calling paid surrogacy an “extremely important issue” that affects many prospective parents, including same-sex and infertile couples, Trudeau said today he expects the debate will draw extreme opinions and emotions.

The government, he said, wants to listen and show respect for all views to “move forward appropriately.”

“I think this is something we need to be thinking about as a society, and when we see the bill I know we will be having a discussion about rights and responsibilities that we share as a society,” he said. “And we will try to see how we can move forward in a reasonable manner.”

The UK government has said it “supports surrogacy” for “LGBT+ parents wanting to create a family”, issuing guidance on the issue for the first time after British Olympic diver Tom Daley announced he is expecting a child via surrogate.

Daley and husband Dustin Lance Black announced earlier this month that they are expecting their first child together. Though they have not spoken about their route to parenthood, it is believed the pair are using a surrogate, whose identity has not been made public.

Following the news, this week the UK government for the first time published guidance on surrogacy for prospective parents.

While she was growing up, Rebekah Knight, now 25, from Ballymoney in Antrim, thought she would start her period in her early teens like the rest of her friends.

But, when she turned 17 and was still waiting, she began to worry that something wasn’t right.

After a string of tests, doctors told her she had a rare condition called Mayer Rokitansky Kuster Hauser (MRKH) syndrome, meaning she was born without a vagina, cervix and uterus.

Win for fairness in recent Surrogacy Decision

The PSA, working collectively with our colleagues through Unions NSW, is claiming a great win for fairness following the recent publication of a NSW Government Determination on the rights of Employees in relation to altruistic surrogacy and permanent out-of-home care arrangements.

The Determination gives surrogate parents access to the same rights as other parents in relation to leave entitlements following the birth of their child. This formal extension of that entitlement follows years of advocacy by the PSA on a case-by-case basis for parents undertaking altruistic surrogacy arrangements and ensures that in future, no parent has to argue that their family is equal to others.
