Hayley Gumble, 25, was diagnosed with a rare condition which causes a woman’s ovaries not to work properly and often results in infertility, two years ago.

The nursery nurse, who grew up in a foster family and has always dreamed of being a mum, was left devastated by the news after suffering two miscarriages.

Doctors said her condition – premature ovarian failure (POF) – meant she only had a five per cent chance of conceiving.

But determined not to take the news lying down, Hayley decided to try a course of IVF on the NHS.

Hayley, of Stevenage, Herts, said: “I am so desperate to be a mother and have a child with my husband.”

AN Irish woman has told of her heartbreak at discovering she had been born without a vagina, cervix or uterus when she was just 18.

While she was growing up, Rebekah Knight, now 25, from Ballymoney in Antrim, thought she would start her period in her early teens like the rest of her friends.

Rebekah has now written a book to try and help others

But, when she turned 17 and was still waiting, she began to worry that something wasn’t right.

After a string of tests, doctors told her she had a rare condition called Mayer Rokitansky Kuster Hauser (MRKH) syndrome, meaning she was born without a vagina, cervix and uterus.

Rebekah, who works as an events steward, said: “As you can imagine, I was very heartbroken and shocked. I couldn’t believe this was happening to me.

Natasha Hutcheon and her childhood sweetheart will finally become parents after colleague Katie Beardal agreed to be their surrogate.

It was a dream they feared would never be realised after a series of heartbreaking setbacks.

But now a couple will finally become parents after a work colleague agreed to be a surrogate mum.

Natasha Hutcheon and childhood sweetheart Peter Walker, both 31, have dreamed of having a baby together since they met as teenagers.

They thought their hopes were dashed when Natasha discovered she was unable to have children.

Now, after 89 hospital visits and two miscarriages in eight years, Natasha’s co-worker Katie Beardal is expecting their baby in September.
