Chalise Smith (50), from Utah in the US, made her daughter Kaitlyn Munoz’s (25) dreams come true when she gave birth to her own granddaughter and her daughter’s baby girl.

Kaitlyn, the third of eight children, had always dreamed of having a big family of her own but health issues prevented her and her husband, Miguel, from conceiving.

After Kaitlyn was diagnosed with endometriosis, the couple began the emotionally taxing journey of conceiving through IVF. It all proved worth it though, when the couple had their first child, Callahan.

A Utah mom has given birth to her granddaughter as a surrogate for her daughter, who was unable to carry her own child.

Chalise Smith – a 50-year-old mother of eight – gave birth to her granddaughter on 17 May, after her daughter Kaitlyn Munoz had struggled with infertility for three years.

Munoz, 25, was told she should not attempt another pregnancy after being diagnosed with endometriosis, and later Sjögren’s syndrome – a disease in which a person’s immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s cells and tissues.

At the age of 17, Meagan White was diagnosed with Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome (MRKH) – a condition that meant she was born without a uterus and could never carry a child.

So as an adult, Meagan decided to opt for a surrogate to start a family – but was left heartbroken when the baby passed away at 21 weeks and Covid travel restrictions prevented another attempt.

However there was still hope, as Meagan’s mum Maree Arnold soon discovered she could carry a child for her daughter.

Now the 54-year-old is 30 weeks pregnant with her own grandchild.

Australia – Grandmother will be a surrogate for her own grandchild: 49-year-old made offer after life-saving hysterectomy left her daughter, 31, unable to have children

Source Daily Mail

A grandmother has offered to give birth to her own grandchild after a life-saving hysterectomy left her daughter unable to have any more children.

Sherrie Zammit, 49, from Gladesville, New South Wales, Australia, made the offer to Chloe Simmons, 31, after Ms Simmons was told she had just weeks to live unless she had her womb removed the day after being diagnosed with cancer in the area between her placenta and uterus lining.

Grandmother-of-one Ms Zammit has already undergone all of the necessary tests ahead of the surrogate pregnancy, which would involve implanting Ms Simmons’ egg and her fiancé Dimitri Pixomatis’ sperm.
